The emptier the wagon

As I walked one day with my father, he suddenly asked me,
"Do you hear anything?"

"Yes," I replied, "the noise of a wagon."

"Excellent," he said, "and it's empty."

"How do you know? We can't see it!"

"Very easy: because the emptier the wagon is,
the more noise it makes."

Since then, if I hear someone talking or bragging to much
and belittling others, I hear father's voice saying:

"The emptier the wagon is . . .
the greater the noise it makes."
