Leland Wilson, Living with Wonder

There was not too much I enjoyed about high school,
but playing basketball was one thing that seemed to
"perk it up." I loved to dribble and shoot and compete
in that kind of contest. Although never fleet afoot nor
springy in jump,  I was tall and fairly accurate in pushing
the ball up and through the net.
One fellow that played for our team was even taller than I,
and skinnier. It did not take long in a game for him to
grow tired. The coach had to take him out, or soon we
were having to appeal to the referees for a "time out."
The problem that we often face, off the court, is the
failure to call the "time out."
