Message of Job

"...Job realizes that he has been speaking of God in a way that implied God was a prisoner of a particular way of understanding justice. It is this whole outlook that Job says he is now abandoning.  Only when we have come to realize that God's love is freely bestowed do we enter fully and definitively into the presence of the God of faith.
... The Lord is not prisoner of the 'give me and I will give you' mentality.  Nothing, no human work however valuable, merits grace, for if it did, grace would cease to be grace.  This is the heart of the message of the Book of Job."
