New England Tour - Thursday, October 16

7:00 am bags ready to be loaded followed by breakfast at the Lodge.  8:15 am departure with a 9:00 stop at Kellerhaus for a candy-making demonstration. Kellerhaus is the oldest candy and ice cream maker in New Hampshire.  Travel on to the Maine coast. Lunch on our own with shopping in Kennebunkport's Dock Square.
Afternoon included a "drive past" the Bush compound at Walker's Point.  The flag was flying indicating family members were present.  Traveled on to Portland (3 pm) where we picked up a local guide and dropped off luggage at the Hampton Inn.

Then on to the Portland Head Lighthouse, a historic landmark for a 1/2 hour of picture taking and hiking. Toured the city of Portland with our local guide pointing out the sites and describing historic aspects of the city.
Checked into our hotel, with a welcome reception (and an unwelcome downpour).  6:30 pm reservation at the Weathervane Restaurant.  I had steak and baked potato.
