New England Tour - Saturday, October 18

Breakfast served beginning at 6:00 am with baggage loading at 7.
Departure at 8:15 am for Massachusetts and Old Sturbridge Village, a re-creation of a rural New England town in the 1830s.  Arrived in time for lunch and an afternoon of exploring the village.  Afternoon check in at the Southbridge Hotel.
Our evening meal was at the historic Salem Cross Inn.  We arrived a bit late due to starting out on the wrong road. However, when we saw the most beautiful rainbow any of us had seen, we agreed it was worth the extra little trip.  We arrived in time to watch our prime rib still roasting over the open fire and to watch our host for the evening show us how he made a single-crust apple pie which we got to eat before the evening ended.  After a wonderful prime rib meal, we watched as a huge bowl of freshly whipped cream arrive and was paraded around the room, followed by the huge pan of apple pie.  As we lined up to receive our pie we were asked by the whipped cream server if we "liked it or loved it", meaning a small or large topping of whipped cream on our pie.  Our host continued to entertain us throughout the evening with a history of the huge building with could seat hundreds.
