45 Years Ago: Woodstock

This weekend marks the 45th anniversary of a rock and roll music historic event long remembered simply as Woodstock. Originally planned as a music festival retreat for up to 50,000 music fans with pre-sale tickets of $18 ($24 at the gate), it grew to 32 acts andan audience estimated at 400,000 - with most admitted free due to a change of venue and no time to erect fences and gates.
The event was eventually held of a 600 acre farm owned by Max Yasgur about 43 miles southwest of Woodstock, NY.
