Reading Bonhoeffer

"This season of reading Bonhoeffer has changed what I see now. My friends have reminded me of Gerhard von Rad's participation in the Confessing church. Also Claus Westermann left his seminary when pro-Nazi Christians took over the place.
I think the theology of these two scholars and folk like Ernst Kasemann learned theology in their era from the political turmoil around them.
I wonder how we might use the turmoil around us to understand the Bible and theology more effectively?"
