Monday Mini-Sermon

...let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us,
looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith... Hebrews 12:1-2
The real secret in running this race we call life is to maintain a focus on where we are going.

The heroes and heroines of the faith who have gone before us attest to the validity of faith and to faith's great strength, and their testimony is a real encouragement to us. But the real basis for our faith and hope is Jesus Christ. He is our supreme inspiration for running the race. Jesus is the One we follow, with faith and hope.  He is the One we keep our eyes focused on so that we will reach the finish line successfully.

Jesus is the One who is our great example for living. He had a goal and purpose for his life - to do the will of God, even when it led him to the cross.  "O God, not my will but thine be done."
