Saturday Smile

In a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon one day, the mother is sitting in her favorite chair sipping on her coffee. In walk Calvin and Hobbes. The mom looks at Calvin and takes in his dress, which consists of a large space helmet and a cape that is tied about his neck and across his shoulders and which falls down his back to drag on the floor. In one hand he is holding a flashlight. In the other hand he holds a baseball bat.
“What’s up today?” asks his mom.
“Nothing, so far,” answers Calvin.
“So far?” she questions.
“Well, you never know,” Calvin says. “Something could happen today.” Then Calvin turns to leave and says, “And if anything does, by golly, I’m going to be ready for it.”
Here comes a new day. Hope you’re ready for it.
