Chris Douglas has accepted the call to the Director for Conference Office position for the Church of the Brethren, effective September 6, 2009. She will be training with Lerry Fogle during Annual Conference and working in conjunction with him until his retirement in December.

Bringing a diverse background to the role, Chris has most recently been serving as Director for Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Chris began her employment with the General Board in January 1985 as Youth/Young Adult Ministry and Urban Ministry staff. In 1990 she became full time for Youth and Young Adult Ministry, because of expanded responsibilities for leadership development events, increasing attendance at National Youth Conferences, and expansion of youth and junior high work camps.

Meeting planning and conferences have been a significant part of her job in the Youth/Young Adult office. Chris has directed the last six National Youth Conferences. She has been a member of Religious Conference Managers Association for the past eight years.

Chris is married to Scott who is the new Director of Pension Plan and Employee Financial Services in Brethren Benefit Trust.

Chris is a Manchester College graduate with a degree in Spanish and Education, holds a Masters of Divinity from Bethany Seminary, and obtained her Doctor of Ministry from Bethany Seminary.
