O God, we pray for these our brothers and sisters who have faithfully served the church well during the years. For their gifts shared to strengthen the ministries of the church, we thank you. We pray that you will guide them into new paths of ministry for the sake of your church.

We confess our part, individually and corporately, in the financial situation that has led to their dismissal. Where we have failed to faithfully support the church, both locally and at district and denominational levels, we confess our failures. Give us, O God, the will and the way to more fully encourage and support our church through our words, our talents, our tithes, and our prayers.

O God, in these difficult days grant us wisdom and courage for the living of these days. Amen.
