A Story for the Christmas Season

A woman was Christmas shopping with her children. After hours of looking at toys and stores full of gifts - and hearing her children ask for them all; she finally made it to the elevator with her children and her packages.

She was feeling the way so many feel during the holiday season - tired and under pressure with gifts to purchase and holidays treats to make, as well as cards to send to everyone we know.

The doors to the elevator opened and inside it was already crowded but she pushed her way in, dragging her children and packages along with her. When the doors closed she took a deep breath and sighed aloud, "Whoever started this whole Christmas thing should be found, strung up and shot." From the back of the elevator came a quiet, calm voice, "Don't worry, we already crucified him."

For the rest of the trip down the elevator it was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.

In this Christmas season may we remember to keep the "One who started this whole Christmas thing" in your every thought, deed, purchase and word.
