Statue of Liberty Anniversary

The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on this date in 1886.
The Statue was a gift to the American people from the people of France. Over the years, the Statue of Liberty has grown to be a symbol of freedom as well as the original sign of international friendship.
In accepting the Statue of Liberty on behalf of the American People on October 28, 1886, President Grover Cleveland said: "We will not forget that Liberty here has made her home...."
