Brethren Heritage Center

The Midwest District Executives are meeting in the Southern Ohio District and spent part of today touring the Brethren Heritage Center in Brookville, Ohio. What a wonderful tour and ministry being provided for all the Brethren bodies by this cooperative ministry.
The Heritage Center collects books, manuscripts, photographs, genealogy and other related artifacts for/by about the Brethren who are part of the faith groups tracing their beginnings to Alexander Mack of Schwarzenau, Germany in 1708. The collection is available for all who wish to know more about the Brethren. New books and excess out-of-print books are for sale to raise money for support of the center.
I would note that the facility is rented to the Brethren for $1/year and all the work is done by volunteers. It is a large, lower level facility in a shopping center and will be growing larger in the near future. Construction work was under way during our visit preparing for expansion into additional space next door. However, the facility will be temporarily closed in the near future to allow for this expansion to take place.
