International Day of Prayer for Peace

Yesterday, in an internationally-released news announcement, the World Council of Churches in Geneva highlighted the Church of the Brethren International Day of Prayer for Peace campaign as a model program, involving almost 150 congregations and organizations from 5 countries (including Puerto Rico) on 3 continents.
If your congregation is participating in this year's observance of the International Day of Prayer for Peace, you will be in good company. The variety of events among the participating churches and organizations ranges from special prayers said in Sunday morning worship services to large, multi-community ecumenical events. Many congregations, in both large and small communities, have chosen to lift up local violence issues as the focal point of their prayers.

International Day of Prayer for Peace is this Sunday!
