The New Price of Luxury

Beautiful, but is it worth $48 million?
The property shown above in Atlanta includes 18.6 acres, art and antiques, a kid-sized baseball field and playroom with its own stage and kitchen.  This house was purchased in 1987 for a then-record $3.7 million and was extensively renovated and expanded to its current size of 14,500 square feet.

This is one of a number of homes illustrated in today's "Mansion" section of The Wall Street Journal in an article The New Price of Luxury. The article's focus is: "How $40 million - a once unthinkable sum- became a standard asking price for high-end real estate."
