Thinking About Lent

Charlie Brown and Snoopy are having a conversation on a lazy-type of day. Charlie is sitting beside the doghouse while Snoopy is laying a top the doghouse.  Charlie Brown says, "I hear you are writing a book on theology."  And then he adds: "I hope you have a good name for the title."

As Charlie stands to leave, Snoopy moves to his typewriter and answers with a smile, "I have the perfect title: Has It Ever Occurred to You That You Might Be Wrong.

If you have not yet decided what to give up for Lent, I might suggest giving up the attitude that your knowledge and opinions are always right.  That might mean your opinions about political issues, your absolute certainty about certain biblical interpretations, or your belief on what is true and what is not.

Today's Lenten reflection: "Has it ever occurred to you that you might be wrong?"
