The Decision

Like other persons interested in NBA basketball, I was curious where LeBron James, as a free agent, would choose to take his basketball talents for the coming year.  Would he choose to remain in Cleveland near his home in Akron, or might he choose to play for the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, New York Nets, or elsewhere?  However, in recent weeks as the media hype increased, my interest decreased.  Last evening on ESPN in a special one-hour program called "The Decision" James announced that we would be playing for Miami.   Like other professional basketball players he will be paid more than any athlete deserves to be paid to play basketball, which has more to say about our society than it does about 25-year-old LeBron James.

Bishop Mike Coyner of the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church has more thoughts about "The Decision" in this E-pistle where he compares the decision James made to the decisions we all must make.
