Saturday Smile

Two men were driving from Louisiana to New Mexico. As the passed through Texas a state trooper pulled them over. The trooper walked up to the driver’s window and tapped on the glass with his nightstick. The driver let the window down upon which, whack!!, he was hit in the head by the nightstick.

“Hey!” yelled the driver, “What did you do that for?”

“Listen, son,” said the trooper, “you’re in Texas. When you’re pulled over, you had better have your license ready to be examined before the officer gets to your vehicle!”

The driver said he was sorry. The trooper walked back to his patrol car and ran a check on the license. He returned the license and told the driver he was just giving him a warning this time. Then, the trooper walked around the car and tapped, with the nightstick, on the passenger window. The other man let his window down whereupon he, too, was popped in the forehead by the nightstick.”
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“Answering your prayers,” said the trooper.
“What do you mean?” asked the passenger.

“I know,” said the trooper, “when you get a couple of miles down the road you’re going to say to your buddy there, ‘I wish to God that cop had tried that with me'.”
Enjoy the day. But be careful what you pray for.
