A Weighty Problem

Tony Robinson, preacher, speaker, author, consultant and coach, recently shared about the opportunity to be a key note speaker at a certain regional judicatory. Then he adds these thoughts: I confess that after three such annual meetings, one in Canada and two in Pennsylvania, it has occurred to me to wonder if I ought to abandon my own prescriptions for church renewal in favor of urging physical fitness/weight loss programs for clergy as the first step on the road to congregational vitality! We are an overweight people. I understand the stresses, emotional burdens, and frequent depression that lead to this. But I also know how being overweight diminishes self-worth and self-confidence, and seriously erodes energy. It's a real concern.

I think Robinson makes an excellent point.
